In Memoriam
In loving memory of Jean Watson
Jean Watson was a 25-year member of ROM. Jean’s many contributions to ROM included serving as President and Vice-President for many years, starting in 2010. Jean also served as President of the MFMC Southeast District since 2013. As such, she chaired the convention efforts in 2015, 2019, and this year, until her death on February 28th.
Jean was a great lover of all types of music and worked tirelessly to advance the missions of ROM and MFMC. Jean was a gifted writer, and she crafted a monthly newsletter for our membership, as well as prepared the programs for our monthly concerts.
Financial Awards
Royal Oak Musicale offers yearly financial awards to qualifying high school seniors who plan to major in music at the college/university level. Since 1974 over $209,000 has been awarded to 307 students.
Chorus
Our non-audition Chorus meets weekly for rehearsals (Sept – Dec and Feb – May).
